Cam Lacy - Tenor

My singing life began at the age of four when I sang, a cappella, Jolly Old St. Nicholas at a PTA meeting. Both my parents loved music and performing. My mother played violin and my dad was a song and dance man. His older brother took him to talent shows in Detroit hoping my dad would win some money (He did on occasion)! And I grew up loving it all. When given the chance, I took piano lessons, tap, and performed at any given time.

I have been active in my community as the founding president of Antrim Regional Theatre, and had a great time performing in many productions. I enjoyed directing a church choir for twenty-two years. I belong to the Bellaire Lioness Club, which is a great service organization.

The Grand Traverse Chorus officially came into my life in January of 2003 after having been a guest since October of 2002. I instantly fell in love with the art form and especially the women of the chorus. How lucky for me to be a part of Sashay who I love nearly as much as my husband. He is a great supporter of Sashay and my involvement in barbershop singing. I couldn’t be luckier. He even lovingly yells from the back computer room how nice I sound when practicing those high tenor notes over and over and over….

Our children are grown and have given us grand children who we thoroughly enjoy. Real estate is my second career after having served in the court system.

My plan is to keep singing as long as body, soul and vocal cords remain healthy and strong.
